Project Overview

When a transportation company sought to consolidate their multiple locations into one central office, they needed more than a move—they needed alignment. They wanted to ensure that the different work cultures from each office were successfully integrated into their headquarters. The Forward Space team partnered with the client and designer to deliver a cohesive, elevated space to support all teams by blending existing furniture with new investments, all within an accelerated timeline.

The Design Approach

Transitioning multiple locations into one shared headquarters meant blending distinct work styles into a well-balanced environment. The newly leased space offered amenities, such as a cafeteria, Starbucks, virtual golf, and walking paths, signaling a move toward a higher-end office experience that reflected the company’s evolution.

The team began by compiling a full inventory of existing furniture and evaluated how it could be reused and integrated into the new environment. With the consolidation of their offices, the company wanted to reconfigure their existing furniture while adding and refreshing their space with new items that focused on ergonomics and posture. Workstations were equipped with Steelcase Ology Height Adjustable Desks and Gesture Chairs to offer various working positions for the teams.

An ancillary lookbook was created to showcase how new furniture could elevate and support the new space while blending seamlessly with the existing furniture. High-density filing solutions ensure ample storage for all teams and incorporating artificial greenery into the space for added warmth.

The employees moved into the new space in phases while construction and installation progressed. This approach minimized disruption and supported a smooth migration within the three-month deadline.

Outcome

The finished result is a unified, elevated office space that successfully integrates multiple team cultures into one cohesive environment while still honoring the company’s operational needs.

By reworking and reusing existing furniture, prioritizing ergonomics and posture, the team delivered a workplace that supports productivity and employee well-being.
