Ravinia is the oldest outdoor music festival in the United States, enchanting audiences with world-class musical performances since 1904. With their sprawling lawn as hallmark of the venue, Forward Space brought in elements of its greenery and sunlight into their office for employees to enjoy inside. Forward Space outfitted the lounge area, reception space, workstations, private offices, break area, open collaboration spaces, kitchen, and flooring.

Supporting employee physical and mental well-being was a prime goal in revitalizing this space. Workstations were installed with Steelcase height-adjustable desks to encourage movement. Steelcase Series 1 chairs provided comfort and posture support for their team through their LiveBack Flexor Systems. Tackable tiles were added to encourage team members to make the space their own. Ravinia employees were quick to use these and workstations were soon filled with artwork, family photos, and Ravinia’s iconic performance calendars.

The Steelcase High Density storage units were included with each workstation to provide a safe place to store alternate attire for concert nights. The slide out interiors also provide privacy and signals to others that occupants need solitude to focus. These changes to both the look and function of their office were enthusiastically received by the staff and more closely aligned their workspace with Ravinia Festival’s branding, values, and world-famous venue.
