Project Overview
BDO, a global accounting firm, engaged Forward Space to furnish key areas within their Rosemont office, including a work café and a conference/training room. Our team sourced and specified all furniture solutions for these areas and supported client decision-making through showroom tours and sit tests.
The Design Approach
The design focused on balancing flexibility, comfort, and a refined aesthetic—particularly in spaces that serve multiple functions.
In the conference and training room, the goal was adaptability. The space needed to transition seamlessly between formal meetings and training sessions while maintaining a strong first impression just off the reception area. Halcon tables, Steelcase Think chairs, and integrated bench seating were selected to support varied postures and configurations. Added elements, like Lagunitas personal laptop tables, give users more control over how they work within the space. Existing benches were reupholstered in BDO’s branded red, tying the room back to the company’s identity while elevating the overall look.
The work café was designed as a moment of respite to offer privacy, comfort, and functionality in a compact footprint. Single-user booths near power access provide focused work settings, while consistent use of materials and furnishings, such as Lagunitas tables, Circa Lounge seating, and OFS Porter planters, create visual continuity with adjacent spaces. Durable upholstery selections ensure long-term performance without sacrificing comfort.
Outcome
Throughout the project, Forward Space worked closely with Box Studios and BDO stakeholders, providing guidance on furniture applications while aligning with the broader design vision and branding direction.
The final environment delivers both function and experience with a cohesive design language through consistent materials and branding. It is a workplace that is adaptable and aligned with how BDO works day-to-day.
